Calculate your savings from a percentage-based or fixed-amount coupon.
Got a coupon and want to know if it’s actually worth using? Pop in the price of what you’re buying, add the coupon’s value, and pick whether it’s a percentage or a flat dollar amount off. You’ll see your savings and the final price in one click — no mental math, no guessing.
Coupons aren’t all built the same way. Some knock a percentage off the price — 20% off, say — and others take a flat amount, like $10 off, no matter what you’re spending. Those two types can produce very different savings depending on the price, so this tool does the arithmetic for you and shows the numbers that matter: how much you’re saving and what you’ll actually pay.
Percentage coupon:
Savings = Price × (Coupon Percentage ÷ 100)
Fixed coupon:
Savings = Coupon Value
For fixed coupons, savings are capped at the item’s price so the calculated final price never falls below $0.
Let’s say there’s a $75 jacket and you’ve got a 15%-off code. $75 × 0.15 = $11.25 saved, so you’d pay $63.75.
Now swap that for a $10-off coupon on the same jacket. You save $10 flat, bringing the price to $65. In this case, the percentage coupon saves $1.25 more.
One more: if you had a $15-off coupon on an $8 item, the calculator caps the savings at $8. Based purely on the numbers entered, the item price can fall to $0, but not below it.
For a percentage coupon, multiply the price by the coupon percentage and divide by 100. For a fixed coupon, subtract the stated coupon value, up to the price of the item.
It depends on the purchase price. Fixed-value coupons often perform well on cheaper items, while percentage coupons become more valuable as the purchase price rises.
Divide the fixed coupon value by the percentage expressed as a decimal. For example, $10 off and 20% off are equal at $50. Above $50, 20% saves more; below $50, $10 saves more.
No. This calculator caps a fixed coupon at the item price, so the calculated total cannot fall below $0.
No. It calculates the coupon against the item price you enter. Shipping, tax, retailer fees, and exclusions are not included.
Not for the basic calculation. If both offer either a stated percentage or fixed amount off, the savings math is the same. The retailer’s redemption rules may still differ.
This calculator handles one coupon at a time. If two percentage discounts genuinely stack, use the Stacked Discount Calculator.
Tax, shipping, minimum-spend rules, excluded products, coupon limits, or retailer-specific checkout rules can all change the final total.
