This Privacy Policy explains how Discount Meter (discountmeter.site) handles information when you use the website.
We have written it in plain language so you can understand what information may be collected, why it may be used, and what choices you have.
Discount Meter’s calculators are designed to perform calculations from the values you enter, such as prices, discount percentages, coupon values, and tax rates.
The calculator code included with this theme processes those values in your browser and does not send them to our server. You do not need to create an account or provide personal information simply to perform a calculation.
If you contact us at info@discountmeter.site, we receive the information you choose to include in your email. This may include your email address, your name if provided, the contents of your message, and technical information you voluntarily include when reporting a problem.
We use this information to respond to your message and deal with the request or issue you contacted us about.
When you visit Discount Meter, certain technical information may be processed automatically by our web hosting provider, security systems, or other services used to operate the website. This can include IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, referring pages, dates and times, and technical logs used for security and troubleshooting.
The current Discount Meter theme does not load analytics trackers or advertising trackers by default.
The theme uses browser local storage to remember your selected currency so the site can keep that preference between visits. This preference is stored on your device.
If third-party advertising, analytics, security, or other services are enabled later, those services may use cookies, web beacons, pixels, local storage, IP addresses, or similar identifiers according to their own policies and applicable consent requirements.
Discount Meter may use third-party advertising services, including Google AdSense, in the future. The current theme does not load a Google AdSense advertising tag by default.
If Google advertising is enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies or other identifiers to serve and measure ads. Where required, visitors will be given the appropriate consent choices before non-essential advertising technologies are used.
Google advertising preferences can be managed at Google Ads Settings.
If advertising or analytics services that require consent are enabled, Discount Meter will use an appropriate consent mechanism for the regions and services involved. Where Google requires a certified Consent Management Platform for its advertising services, a certified solution must be configured before applicable non-essential advertising technologies are used.
The current theme does not load Google Analytics or another analytics tracker by default. If an analytics service is enabled later, this policy will be updated where necessary and the required consent controls will be used.
Discount Meter does not independently sell personal information supplied directly to us through our contact email.
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or where retention is required for security, operational, or legal reasons.
Depending on where you live, privacy law may give you rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or other choices regarding personal information. To contact Discount Meter about a privacy request, email info@discountmeter.site.
Discount Meter is a general-audience website and is not designed specifically for children. We do not knowingly ask children to provide personal information through the calculators.
We take reasonable measures to maintain the website and protect information under our control. However, no website, internet transmission, hosting service, or email system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Discount Meter may contain links to websites operated by other organizations. Their privacy practices are outside our control, so review the privacy policy of any third-party website you visit.
We may update this Privacy Policy when our website, advertising services, technology, or privacy practices change. The “Last Updated” date at the top will show when the policy was most recently revised.
